1600R Sport

Tim Bogenhagen's 1600R Sport

Enclosed cockpit comfort for all-season flying.

The 1600R Sport starts with the proven 1100R airframe, and includes a fully enclosed tilt-over canopy, curved turtledeck, streamlined cowl and spinner. Add a 40HP 2 cylinder engine and you'll have a great performing, great looking aircraft that you can fly comfortably all year long. The 1600R Sport also has a "convertible" option: The fully-enclosed canopy can be quickly replaced with an open tilt-up windshield for fun warm weather flying.

You can buy a complete kit or spread the cost out by building one sub-kit at a time. If you start with the basic 1100R Mini-Max you can upgrade to the 1600R at any time by adding the Sport components. The 1600R Sport is one of our most popular designs, because of it's cabin comfort, great looks and exceptional performance.
